Does the risk for child abuse depend on the age of the child?

The risk for child sexual abuse (CSA) rises with age. According to a 1998 study of child abuse statistics from the American Department of Health and Human Services (
Putnam 2003
, 1993) the prevalence of CSA is distributed over different ages in the following way:
