Rehab for depression
In recent years, a rapid increase of mental health problems in medical rehabilitation is recorded. We observe on one hand a higher sensitivity of patients and their doctors. On the other hand symptoms of depression shift more and more in the direction of atypical fatigue syndromes and a very obvious multiple burden of work, care at work versus caring for relatives or children (so-called. empathy fatigue) and fewer and fewer opportunities to meet individual requirements.
Not infrequently, job-related problems, a very big role, bring the patient to the treatment of a rehab. Here then, usually the German Pension Fund as payers of rehabilitation, is responsible. Characteristic of the vocational problems are either workplace conflicts ( "mobbing"), or unemployment or non-reconciliation of work and family. The requirements for ever higher mobility and flexibility on workers on one hand, and inadequate payment on the other hand lead especially for single mothers or occupational groups with relatively small payment to chronic distress and tension situation.
Depression is then not the same as depression!
Episodes of so-called recurrent depressive disorder do not so often get the therapi they need. Instead, cronical symptoms such as
- tinnitus,
- irritability,
- mood swings,
impulsive behaviour, - pain at more than three parts of the body, gastrointestinal complaints
Rather, it is to enable a comprehensive approach of rehabilitation, namely, where the object is self-efficacy and an understanding of the causes, own influencing opportunities and outpatient treatment options forms.
