What is clomipramine (Anafranil)?

Answer:
  • Clomipramine is in a class of drugs called tricyclic antidepressants. Clomipramine affects chemicals in the brain that may become unbalanced and cause obsessive-compulsive disorder.
  • Clomipramine is used to relieve symptoms of obsessive-compulsive disorder such as recurrent thoughts or feelings and repetitive actions.
