Abstract:

Steps in changing your life-style instead of slimming.

Question:

Every time I try to slim I only get fatter. The thought that I mustn't eat makes me completely obsessed with food. I weigh 114 kilo and I must go down for health reasons. However, it seems impossible as every attempt causes me to go up at least 3 kilo.

Answer:

Forget all about slimming. You have tried several times and failed. Try to learn new and improved eating habits instead. If you use the method described below you will succeed. You will also notice that your difficulties are of short duration and when you have managed to get the new habits you will find them quite natural and the new diet much better than the old.

It is essential not to change everything at once. Take it easy and try to remove one bad habit at a time, followed by learning one new and healthy habit, and so on.

Make a list of your bad eating habits arranged in order of difficulty, i.e., with the easiest to change first. You will soon find that this method functions and you will be inspired to proceed down the list. Your weight will gradually go down and you will begin to feel much better.

What is meant by good eating habits? It involves eating regular meals in a way which suits you; it also involves gradually removing everything that contains empty calories. You should avoid food containing saturated fat such as chocolate, cakes, butter, cheese, chips, cream biscuits and bacon. Instead you need to eat a lot of salads, vegetables, roots, fruits, berries and fish.

You have no doubt noticed that when you eat certain kinds of food you eat too much and have difficulty in stopping. Such food should be removed from your diet.
