Hello.
A couple of weeks ago my boyfriend of almost six months told me that he wanted to take a break. The next day, he told me we were over. Six months may not seem like a long time to some people, but for that time, we were in a serious and happy relationship with few problems. So now I'm still very much in love with him and want him back, but he has already moved on to another girl. We were interested in each other for a very long time before we actually dated, and I don't know how to take the breakup. It came out of nowhere and it just doesn't make much sense. I just, kind of need to know if maybe he needed some space or if there's a chance we'll get back together...
I'm sorry if there's not much you can help me with, I guess I just needed to ask.

Some men want new girlfriends all the time. Next time you get interested in a man, find out how many girlfriends he has had. If he switches partner every sixth month, find someone else. Then he is not the kind of man you want.

Read about men who do not want to commit themselves.

Letter from a reader: Move on. Each relationship is a new experience - there's something to take out of them all. With the next one, take it slowly. Enjoy each little thing for what it is, without thinking about how long or serious the relationship is. Take note on how that person treats others when he's with you. His family, waiters, store attendants, strangers, friends etc. It tells you alot about a person. Don't take being dumped personally - its as much about him. His loss really. If a guy needs space - he's not that into you. You don't want to love a guy who would do that to you. There's plenty of great guys out there that would have at least explained things to you. And never act desperate - its a big turn off.
