I am 31 yr old female, 5'4 and weigh 75 kilos. I feel fat and there are some days this feeling makes me feel very low and bad about myself. I have yo-yo'd between 63 - 80 kilos all adult life, but since I hit 30 I have stayed at this weight.
I feel I have a healthy diet - I dont have a sweet tooth, prefer wholefood options (brown rice, wholemeal breads, etc) I do not eat pasta and have a mainly veg. diet. ''bad'' stuff I do = drink a lot of strong coffee, like cheese, bread, and sometimes snack instead of a meal.
Recently began a concentrated effort to do something about my weight - longing to feel more toned and slimmer before summer. I swim 40 lengths 3x a week for the past month and a half, didnt overindulge at xmas, walk most days, cycle sometimes, and have been making sure I cook a low carb/low fat meal each evening and take my lunh to college every day to stop me buying fattening food from the canteen. Six weeks on, I have not lost ANY weight. I do feel slightly more toned due to the swimming, but I am the same jeans size - struggling to fit a 14/16. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG? I thought decreasing calorie and fat intake and increasing excercise was a sure fire way to make a difference in my life long term. I do feel better about myself, BUT still want to shift my spare tyres ! HELP!
Thanks. XC
Do not eat rice, bread, cheese or snacks. Eat fish or lean meat and salad for lunch and dinner and berries for breakfast and snacks. Go on with your excercising. Eat until you are satisfied, but not more. Eat onion, spinach, aubergine, broccoli, cauliflower, green beens, sprouts, sallad, olives, avocado, cucumber, pimiento, leek. Try to make new and interesting salads and dishes every meal so you will not get bored. If you are a vegetarian, you can use tofu instead of meat.
