Abstract:

I am 87 years old, and need help with shopping.

Question:

I am 87 years old and I want to run my errands to banks or shops myself, but I need someone who accompanies me because I am both forgetful and staggering. Unfortunately, the nursing staff does not have enough time and think that it is faster to run the errands for me than with me. How can I get help with elderly exercise?

Answer:

I have talked to some schoolboys and schoolgirls and they said that they would gladly take a walk with elderly people for a small amount of money. Why not ask among your acquaintances or putting an advertisement in a food shop? Another possibility is to advertise for a senior citizen willing to help. The Red Cross also has a service to accompany people – call them and ask them about it.
