Abstract:

Test wher you answer a few simple questions to find out how strong your nicotine addiction is.

Question:

How addicted to nicotine am I?

Answer:

Test how addicted you are to smoking. Answer six questions and total your scores.

  1. How fast after waking up do you smoke your first cigarette?
    • Within five minutes - 3 points
    • After 6-30 minutes - 2 points
    • After 31-60 minutes - 1 point
    • After more than 60 minutes - 0 points
  2. How many ciragettes do you on average smoke per day?
    • Less than 11 - 0 points
    • 11-20 - 1 point
    • 21-30 - 2 points
    • More than 30 - 3 points
  3. Is it difficult for you to abstain from smoking when it is forbidden, such as in cinemas or on airplanes?
    • Yes - 1 point
    • No - 0 points
  4. Which cigarette is most difficult to skip?
    • The first in the morning - 1 point
    • Any other - 0 points
  5. Do you smoke more in the morning than the rest of the day?
    • Yes - 1 point
    • No - 0 points
  6. Do you smoke even if you are so ill that you would prefer lying in bed?
    • Yes - 1 point
    • No - 0 points

Sum your points for all the questions. Interpretation of the result:

6-10 points: Strong nicotine addiction, which probably makes it hard to stop smoking. Large reason to use a nicotine chewing gum, patch or other nicotine medicine when quitting smoking.

4-5 points: The average smoker. Has to fight both nicotine addiction and habits to stop smoking.

0-3 points: Low addiction, you probably smoke mostly because of habit or because of group pressure.
