Why do patients not always mention their depression to their doctor? What are the doctor to patient communication problems?

Answer:

There are some reasons that make patients who suffer from depression unwilling to confess their problem to doctors. Some of these reasons are:
  • Embarrassment
  • Somatisation
  • Fear of stigma
  • Fear of annoying doctor
  • Fear of lack of sympathy
