Abstract:

There is little evidence that lecithin has any therapeutic value.

Question:

Is lecithin a good choice for memory impairments (ADHD, Alzheimer)?

Answer:

Despite the fact that a lot of advertisment promises scientific evidence or clinical benefits using lecithin (phosphatidyl choline) as a nutrition supplement, scientif meta-analysis do not show a benefit.

Phosphatidylcholin is a precursor of the neurotransmitter Acetylcholine.

Only some patients with minor cognitive impairments report a benefit of the use of these pills. They are expensive and long-term side-effects of interactions with other drugs are not investigated.

There is no evidence for a therapeutic effect for children, adolescents or adults with ADHD (Attention deficit disorders), chronic fatige (CFS), fibromyalgia or any other psychiatric syndrome.
