He does not want a relationship anymore

I just need some quick sound advice. I have been getting attention from this guy for ages now and last weekend we hit it off well i thought so anyhow , but when i asked him about what is going on a couple of days later he said he didn't want a relationship right now, which I understand as he only came out of a five year relationship in January, However I can tell there is some kind of spark going on between us so what I want to ask is do I get to know him as friends and see how it develops or is it his poor lame excuse of saying he is just not interested? and I should just move on

Do not contact him but let him fight to get you if he is interested.
