question
How can i develop a better relationship with my in-laws?
I find myself not liking them, especially my mother in-law. Whenever they are around i find myself angry and i don't like them having anything to do with my daughter.
I am thinking this comes from me being a very shy person and my mother in-law being very overbearing. I feel as though she walks all over me and my partner. She does what she wants and not what we want, especially in regards to our daughter.
I feel as though she has no respect for us, especially me.
We have never had a great relationship, but ever since my daughter was born i dislike her more each passing day.
When i was giving birth i told everyone that i just wanted my partner to be there as this was meant to be our experience. But she was there, uninvited, and me being too shy to say anything, didn't, and just fumed.
Ever since then i am just angry with her and don't want them around. There is so much more that she has done that furiates me.
Basically, i would like to have a better relationship for my daughters sake.
Can you please advise me on how i should handle this?

Accept that you do not like your mother in-law. Ask your husband and your daughter to visit her without you, and spend this time with your friends instead. Behave nice and correct, when you have to meet.

Mothers in-law are terrible, but grandmothers are nice.
