question
My daughter lives with an extremely over controlling husband. She is a pleaser and continually allows him to controll her in order to keep peace. She tells me that she is happy but I see otherwise. I have noticed that she is loosing her identity and becoming a mirror image of him. The things she loved and enjoyed in life no longer exist now. It is as if the girl I raised has dissapeared. In the beginning I was an overcontrolling parent. I have since learned healthier behavior. Now I don't know how to help undo the weak sense of self I gave my daughter. Is there anything I can do to help her. This is breaking my heart!

You can be her friend and listen to her when she needs to talk. You can tell her what you think, if she is intrested in listening yo you. You can also propose that she sees a psychotherapist.
