Adult children only visit their father, not their mother

I have 3 adult children who visit their father on holidays but not me. Their father's extended family all live here, my only family is a sister on the east coast. How do I encourage them to visit me without making them feel guilty? I hesitate to tell them that this hurts my feelings. One of my sons called before Thanksgiving, stated that his wife had to work, so he wanted to come see me and work on some home projects with me. I waited all week-end, he never called to say he couldn't make it yet he and his wife spent Thanksgiving with his father 2 hours away.

Ask your children to visit you. Promise them something in exchange, such as a lunch or dinner. When they visit you, show how happy you are to see them. Never complain that they visit to seldom. If they still do not want to come, there is nothing you can do.
