redness under foreskin

Dear Doctor,
I am finding this one a hard one to understand.
Since December I have been diagnosed as a diabetic, high in uric acid which allopurinol tablets 100mg one a day have been prescribed.I'm not on any form of medication for diabetes at present,and trying to keep myself fit.
However for some months now I have noticed redness under the foreskin and this is starting to bother me,do you have any ideas what this would be attributed to.Any advise you are able to give would be appreciated.Just to add I am out of a relationship and have been since the begining of the year,so I don't think sex comes into it,I'm also hetrosexual.
