Ive been a cutter for almost 4 years now, but Im gradually trying to stop. The other day, I noticed my older brother had a lot of like, scars on his arm...I asked him about them and he was like "oh ya i hurt myself" but he quickly covered his arm up. After that, I started realizing that he kept pulling that sleeve down by habit, and he's been wearing long sleeves even though its hot outside. Im so scared his hurting himself...that hurts me 100X worse because I love him so much. Ive never told anyone about my problem, so I dont want to confront him, please help me with what to do !!

*also, Im thinking about going to a psychologist...but Im not the kind of person that likes to talk about her problems, and Id never want my parents to find out about my problem. If I go, is there any where information about my cutting could get back to my parents? We he/she but me on meds or anything like that ? Cause also, Im known as being the "outgoing, really sweet, always smiling girl"...cause I never talk about my problems...I dont want people to know what I do.

The psychologist has no right to reveal what you have told her to anybody. Go and get help for your brother's sake. If you can help yourself, you will be able to help him too.

Self-cutting is a serious problem and needs professional treatment.
