Dear Web4health,
I have been divorced for about 4 years. We have joint custody of our 8 year old daughter, with a split time of 1 week with me, and two weeks with her mother.
My ex has been married and divorced once since our divorce.
Before her second divorce, she met a married man, whom she wanted to marry.
After her second divorce, she has had two live-in boyfriends, and now she's dating a third.
My daughter grows attached to each and every one of these men.
My question is, how might the multiple men, in a relatively short period of time (on average once / year), affect her well being and, if it does, what can I do to releave any adverse effects?
I would truly appreciate an answer as well as some suggerstions for books and/or web pages which might help shed some ligth on this issue.
Thanks,
T
In the beginning your daughter will become attached to the new men but eventually she will not do that anymore sine she time after time gets let down and disappointed. Since she has regular access to you; you will become the most important man in her life. Listen to your daughter when she needs to express her feelings concerning her lifesituation but do not criticise her mother when she can hear you.
