concern for my husband

hello: i am very worried about my husband and would like some advice. we have had a very bad time the last few years -- loss of our son in an accident, job layoff, and now we have such debt that I feel we need to sell our house and move into more affordable housing. we have already filed bankruptcy once so that is not an option. my husband seems unable to deal with the situation. though he has been in counseling in the past few years, he has not been helped. he seems unable to pull himself out of a downward spiral. he is making up reality instead of dealing with it, hoping unrealistically that something is going to happen that will bale us out. i have numerous medical problems but i contribute as best i can. what do you think is the best thing to do in this situation? thank you very much.

Since your husband doesn’t seem to be able to be the responsible adult and counseling doesn’t seem to help, you will have to take responsibility for the family and for the economy. You will have to make the arrangement to sell the house and find a new place for the family to live which you can afford.
