question
Once in a while I get this very heavy crushing feeling in my chest along with shortness of breath. It normaly lasts about 5 min and then hits again with in a hour. This only happens about 4 to 5 times a year but I really think it only happens during very stressful times. Is this some kind of panic attack or something?

I agree. I was involved with a very passive-aggressive woman and had the same symptoms. At one point they were severe enough I was refered to a cardiologist for a cardio-stress test. Turns out it was anxiety/stress. The key was identifying the source. Now that I know what caused the stress/anxiety I was able to get away for the situation or for others, maybe learning how to survive is the solution. In either case, I agree it's stress or anxiety. I'd check with the doc though.

I would think it is a panic attack, thats the problem with our condition,in spite of the fact that a doctor may assure you that its probably muscle tension which causes the pain, there is an underlying fear that the sensation is a real threat, owing to the fact that we are already charged up for fight or flight.
