Dear Ms. Palme
For almost two years i have been involved with a man who is emotionally not there for me. He wants me only on his terms but will not do anything for me. He won't go for walks and when we make love he is gone right shortly afterwards. He told me on christmas eve he will be going to his brother's and that I should go to see my family. He won't accept gifts and won't even let me sit next to him when he comes to visit.Once I bought him a gift and he wouldn't take it.I felt awful. I don't dare argue with him because he won't speak to me for about 3 months. He is 62 years old and has never been married and He says he likes to be alone. There is no fun in this relationship so why don't I have the courage to leave?
He lives right across the hall from me and knows my every move.I have known men in my life but not one like this guy. He just likes to lie in bed at his place by himself. All my friends and family think I am a fool because he does not treat me very well.He will take me nowheres and wants to go home to bed every night early. What is wrong with me? I feel hurt and uptight constantly. Please give me some advice so I will have the courage to put this relationship behind me.
You need more friends to become strong enough to leave this boring man. Join a society, if you cannot get friends elsewhere. Would it be possible for you to move to some other place?
