My husband and I have been together for over 5 years, married for over 2. While he has never been slender, he has gained a great deal of weight over this time. He is shorter (approx 5'6" or 7") and carries his weight in his stomach and weighs around 280 (although this is a guess because he doesn't like to talk about it). He followed Weight Watchers points at the beginning of 06 and was doing great, but makes excuses as to why he can't stick to it ("It's the weekend," or "I'm on vacation" or whatever.)
He refuses to count calories, saying he doesn't want to write down everything. We joined a gym together but he constantly comes up with excuses not to go. I am concerned not about his appearance but his health. His uncle had a heart attack and died 4 years ago, his parents are overweight, his sister. I have tried to be supportive and I diet with him, but he can't stay on track. What can I do to help him? How can I talk to him about it without completely offending him? Please help!!
