Question:

What are the risk factors and causes for teenage suicide?

Answer:

Someone is regarded as an immediate suicide risk if he or she is currently:

Experiencing severely depressed mood
Hallucinating commands to commit suicide
Hopeless and pessimistic
Self-blaming and guilty
Expressing intent to harm him or herself

A person is also regarded as an immediate suicide risk after a suicidal act if this entailed:

Careful preparation of the act
Precautions to avoid interruption or rescue
A suicide note and an "ordering" of personal affairs
The expectation of the method being fatal
Remorse at the failure of the act
