my partner and me have been together nearly a year and her mood swings have been getting worse, she can have up to two to three episodes a day were she is extremely happy to really unhappy being really aggressive in the way she talks to me.... I have asked what could steam this of and she has no idea.

Women usually have more mood swings than men. Ask your partner to contact a psychiatrist for diagnosis and perhaps treatment.
