My husband says he is not sure he wants to continue our marriage. He is unsure he still feels the same way for me as when we got married. How do I help make his decision? I still love him very much so and so not want this to be the end of our marriage. He knows this and is willing to seek help but I have read that only 20% of marriages still survive after counseling, and if he is unsure how will I know if he is putting in 100% into helping us through this? We have four small children (7,5,4,1) and just bought a new home, I don't want to see any of this go to waste. Please help I feel I am running out of time to mend this already bad situation. I have just been trying to be there for him but it is eating me alive.
Family therapy usually tries to keep the family together whenever possible. Therefore, start going to counseling anyway. Try and understand what it is that your husband needs to feel satisfied. It is easy to forget your husband, when you have four children. Can you perhaps go away for a week and leave him taking care of the children or having him staying away from you? In that way he can experience how it is to be without his wife and hopefully miss you.
