Hello, my names Adam and i'm 17 years old from liverpool england.

Lately my life has been very hard on me, even though nothing big or important has happened. I have very lowself esteem, very low confidence when with people i dont know very well or at all, i sometimes am overwhelmed with sadness when i think of certain things, but some things dont effect me at all.

I havent been going to college because i just dont see the point, ive failed once before and i feel more of a failure now so guilty because my mother works so hard to provide for me. I feel like a letdown, but i havent toldmy mum anything because im scared.

I dont know anyone who can help me, i dont know if im just being an emotional teenager with low self esteem or am showing symptoms of atleast mild depression.

I dont know if i asked the right stuff or are even using this free medical advice thing right.

I just dont know what to do. Thanks for any advice you can give me.

If college does not suit you, why not go to a occupationally-oriented school or take up an apprenticeship in order for you to learn a trade. Your mother will not be around to support you all your life, so you will have to do it yourself. If you learn a trade that you feel happy with doing you will feel the commitment and satisfaction in life that you need. Consult a doctor and ask him if he feels that you need treatment for depression. Make sure that you exercise at least one hour per day by taking a walk, biking or some other activity. Eat proper food and not junk food. And make your mother happy by helping her with the chores around the house.
