i am 21 yrs of age.. ever since i was born.. there is a problem... i am not impotent but there is visible abnormality in pubic region... i feel disgusted just looking at myself.. i have to avoid showering with other ppl in the gym and change with tower tightly wrapped around myself etc etc... .. no matter whoever comes along.. i know it will not work out once we reach to bedroom... therefore i know that i am destined to be alone for the rest of my life... i feel very lonely yet i can't talk to my parents about it, it would make them feel worst... i have no one to talk to and i don't know what i can do.. do i need to see a psychiatrist?

I have met several perfectly normal young people who have suffered from the misconception that they are disfigured and grotesque. If you indeed have a disformation, it might be something that can be fixed. If, on the other hand, there is nothing wrong with you and it is all in your head, then psychotherapy might help you. Also you can consult a psychiatrist. Sometimes these illusions that there is something wrong with you are the result of a OCD, a disease which can be improved with medication.
