Is it possible, if an individual experiences all or most effects of childhood sexual abuse, yet has no memory of it happening, the individual could have been sexually abused? If so, how would the individual find out what happened to him/her? If not, what other explanations could there be and why?
The patient comes to psychotherapy with painfull symptoms. When it comes to my own patients it is usually a matter of eating disorders. Sometimes the patient remembers what has happend and sometimes she does not. However, the memories are there and will surface during the psychotherapeutic process. If the patient is very set in this condition one can cooperate with a talented Rosen therapist. When the patient has relived the repressed feelings the symptoms will disappear and the patient can move on with her life.
