MY BEST FRIEND IS DYING. I strongly believe that if she doesn't get medical attention quickly, she will die. She means the world to me and I don't know what I would do if I lost her.
Lately she has been feeling severe chest pains, nausea, extreme plummet in appetite, fatigue, vomiting, headaches, and nervousness.
She is currently taking Concerta every day. Her mom forces her to swallow the pill down. I've been there when she does it before and it disgusts me!
My best friend is 17 years old has been on drugs prescribed for ADD/ ADHD since about the 2nd grade.
The other morning she was rushed to the hospital at 4:30a.m. because she couldn't breath! After she could breath easier, the doctor talked with her and her mother. The doctor said that because Wendy, (my best friend) has lost so much weight, her body is shutting down and her chest is caving in as a result. FYI, Wendy has lost 10 pounds in the last two weeks! She is 5'7" and now weighs about 105!!! Two weeks ago, her mother increased her dosage by double.
I am sitting in class right now, writing you this email, and I am in tears. Wendy just left to a friend's aunt's house because she is afraid that her mother is going to find out that she is suffering and think that she is "just faking it again."
Please, if there is anything you could do to help, or anything you could tell me about what's going one, I would appreciate it greatly.
Thank you,
Mackenzie Fitzwater
It is difficult when one feels that something is wrong and there is nothing that one can do about it. Maybe you are right, but you have no power. Do you have an adult around that you trust and who will listen to you? Speak to that person and ask him/her for advice.
