Drugs may make you feel happy for a short time, but depression is the price you pay afterwards. It can takes 8 drug free months before a former addict can feel normal again. The endorphine receptors in the brain are overstrained due to the drugs and need time to recover before a person can feel happy again about simple things.

Suggest to your friend that she discuss her situation with a psychiatrist. Perhaps a psychiatrist can help her in some way.
