question
I have this belief that if i were to help someone when they need it most, they are to remain loyal to me for rest of their lives and be available to help me whenever i need them. I assume that other people might also hold the same belief and if they offer me some help, i am to be loyal and available to them thereafter, no matter what. This makes me scared of asking for help from someone and generally, i would not like to be much dependent on others, even if it means i have to suffer. It does make other people respect me and i feel dignified. Not sure whether this is a right attitude or is more helpful or harmful.

I ask people for help when I need it. If they say no I accept that and ask again some other time. I do not mind being dependent on others and do things for them in return. If I am busy, I say no. But if you prefer to be more independent, it is OK and up to you.
