question
I married to my wife on Sept 2002.(I am 32 years old and wife 27). I observed the following behaviour of my wife:
1. She gets vey mich angry once in every month.
2. She is completely uncontrollable in those ten minutes of time. She even attempts to suicide and often threatens me to do so.
3. She quotes some silly reasons (which is baseless) for being angrey. Only me , my father and mother lives in the house.
4. Sinc I suspect loneliness was the problem, I brought her to my workplace (I am doing research in technical institution which far away from home). But here also she finds some problem(like me coming late from lab etc) to gets angry.
5. Finally last one week ago it went to even such an alarming level that I sought the help of my neighbours to physically control over her since she went for suiciding.
6. I don't want to divorce her since I loves her and she is the mother of a 14 months old baby.

I checked with her parents whether she had such disorders in the beginning, they said, as usual, a big no.

Would you please help me to find it out?

  1. Women often gets very angry for hormonal reasons once a month.
  2. Listen to her and try to undestand her feelings when she is upset.
  3. Respect her reasons.
  4. Encourage her to find a workplace of her own or to start studying. Being brought to your workplace is not enough.
  5. Seing a psychotherapist would do her good.
  6. Give her much caring and support when she needs it.

Threats of suicide should never be disregarded. Read more about handling people who are threatening suicide.
