I need encouraging words for an addict

Hi
I would like to know how and what i can do to encorage an heroin addict to let the drug go . (my childs Father) a very good and friend of mine. We are seperated for 10 years
I realy care for him. My child would get hurt if he ever knows.
What Im asking for is. Words that i can tell this man. Things that i know an addict (he) would like to hear. To have him safe atleast till he desides to give up the addiction.

Not even having a child helps your friend to quit. The addiction is too strong for words. Encourage him to get professional help.
