question
Hi,

I think I'm having difficulties in my relationship. I feel bad about myslef and I am frustrated most of the time. Even though I know my partner loves me, I am one hundred per cent sure he's going to leave me as soon as he discovers how stupid, un-balanced, frustrated and phoney I am. I deliberately cause quarrels and I announce leaving him every week. I am panicky and often feel inadequate in some way. I feel that if I don't do something about this, my relationship will end, because my partner will become fed up with me. I dread the idea of him leaving me, so I ask for professional help on how to handle the problem.

regards,

Be kind and loving to your partner and he will see no reason to leave you. If you talk about leaving him, he might think of what to do, if you really left him. Therefore, never talk about leaving him. Do not give him those ideas. See a cognitive psychotherapist, if possible, and learn how to think and act to feel better. Or borrow a self help book at the library.

Read more about cognitive therapy.
