question
I started 17.50 mg. Valium in December or January. My doctor started reducution in May and I'm at 17.50. My withdrawl symthoms have been mostly gastric (nausea and anorexia) I know I can taper slower so I won't have such horrible effects. He took me from 17.5 to 10mg. and am now at 7.50. What kind of taper would you suggest to prevent such withdrawl symthoms? I have no extra pounds to lose.

Common tapering off dosage is to reduce the dose by 2,5 or 5 mg at a time. If you can accept the withdrawal symptoms, you might taper off faster to faster get rid of your dependence, but any dosage or tapering off scheme should be discussed with your doctor.
