question
I have recently been experiencing flashbacks to sexual abuse when I was a child which I had no idea of until recently. I was aware of other abuse I had experienced but had not remembered these particular incidents until recently. Firstly, is it normal to 'forget' about this stuff for so long (at least 17 years)? And secondly, how can you explain my increased sex drive over the last few weeks? I am really concerned that I'm not normal. I don't know what's going on with me at the moment.

Yes, it is normal to forget about this stuff for a very long time. Read Alice Miller's books. Try to find a psychotherapist to help you.

Also read this page in Web4Health.
