question
hi, my parents tend to raid my room for my diary every once in a while to see what i write. then when they read it, they get mad and i get in trouble. is it just me, or is that not right? my personal feelings, are my personal feelings, i shouldn't get in trouble for expressing how i feel. so then, a few weeks ago, i went to the internet and created and online journal that only me and my friends (also people with the web address) could read and view. my parents found out, read it, and i got in trouble for it. i have been banned from the internet, i can't speak to any of my friends about my problems, and i can't speak to any one in my family about it. what should i do? dad says to come talk to him and mom about it, but they don't have the time, and i would most definitely get in trouble for expressing how i feel to them. i now have to keep everything bottled up inside and it sucks. help, what should i do???

I think your parents should allow you to write a diary. They have no right to look in it. Talk to them and try to convince them that it is important for you to have your diary. Maybe if you do something to make them happy like doing homework or helping with the dishes, they would be kinder to you. Try to negotiate with them.

Get a diary with a lock on it, or get a locked box, which only you can open, to keep it in.
