My 3 year old boy refuses to eat real meal at all. All he eats is> for breakfast: a milk shake with a 3 minute boiled egg and a spoon and a half of pediasure plus some fruit or some cereal (without milk) if he is more hungry. For lunch at school, he eats a small amount of fruit(watermelon, grapes, apple) or a cookie or some popcorn and water. At dinner/meal time he will never accept rice, beans, meat(of any kind),soup, salad, vegetables, pasta, or any prepared meal. I have tried to give him the ingredients separated in small amounts but he will refuse to eat any of these. He only accepts a glass of milk and a banana. sometimes he doesn't want either the banana but if I offer him rice or something else he asks for the banana. And at night, like at 7 pm he eats a glass of milk with a 1 1/2 spoon of pediasure, cereal or cookies, sometimes jello or yogurth and that's it. The only salad food he accepts is frech fries, plain potatoe chips, cheetos, crakers, a plain tostada, nuts (granola, cashews, slices of almonds-with the honey bonches cereal-, peanuts). He is a thin boy, however he is tall and in the edge low limit of weight but I kill myself finding what to give him at dinner/meal time. If I try to force him to eat something he doesn't want, he starts crying and after eating he vomits what he ate. I have always had this trouble with him since he started eating food at age of 1 year and 2 months old. I breastfeed him for one year, at six months of age I introduced him with fruits, etc. and he did't like the texture of real fruit he only accepted gerbers but when it came time for real food we started with this problem. I realy want to help my little boy, I have asked pediatricians and doctors but they feel the kid is ok. However I really think there is something else. Would you help me to find out?
If this can help you to help me find out what's going out, I have to tell you he tears the edges of his finger nails all the time, so I can't cut his finger nails, they seem like if he was biting them. Besides, some times he repeats words several times when he talks, but this doesn't occur all the time.
