i am 34 male and in good job but i can never feel happy when i am out with friends or on my own my mind racers 100mph thinking of stupid things that cause worry, people say its just cause i have just lost my mother and step father but i have been like this for years.something must have happened when i was younger and i cant put my finger on it.i can remember being a confident child who was good at everything but somewhere along the line i just lost hope ,i stopped playing sport etc.i couldnt even say what i like i always listen to what others like and tow the line ,i just dont know who i am,i have lost lots of girlfriends as as soon as they say i love you im off.but i crave a girlfriend.i just seem to always be thinking bad things are going to happen but everyone thinks i am this confident person who is always giving good advice and is fun to be with.a friends girlfriend (who is a trianee psychiatrist)actually said she would love to spend an hour with me as she said she had never met anyone with such an adjustable mind ?

Perhaps you are suffering from obsessive thoughts. Ask a psychiatrist for diagnosis and treatment. Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is mainly genetic and has less to do with upbringing or traumatc events in your life.

Read the articles under the heading Obsessive Compulsive Disorder in this list of articles.
