Last week, my husband found a stash of pornographic stories in my 18-year-old step-son's room. That in itself is not so worrying, except that every one of the stories was about a boy/young man having sex with his mother. Is this normal? Should we seek counseling for him?

Yes, I think you should seek counseling for him. It would be more adequate for his age, if he dreamt about girls of his age.
