My husband and I are recently married (a few months). His adult daughter (in her 20's) acted polite at first, but quickly began to state to her Dad that she did not want me (his new wife) to come there when he visits her. She is married. I have been polite and interested in both of them when they have come to visit us in the past (a number of months ago). She recently told her Dad that "I have turned her world upside down." She has not had many conversations with me, only in general conversation when they came to visit us. We never had an argument, she and I. I think she resents me because I am not her Mom. Her Dad and Mom divorced 3 yrs. ago. She criticized each girlfriend her Dad had before me - and now me. How do I (we) handle this tough situation? Please respond as soon as possible. Thank you!!
Let your husband's daughter have her dad for herself sometimes. Meet her as seldom as possible. There is no reason for you to visit her, at the same time when her father visits her. Have a nice time with your own friends instead.
