Fear of Rejection

I have a deep fear of criticism, disapproval and rejection and it has been there in my family as well for years. I can't have proper relationships becoz of that. I have several other symptoms of Avoidant Personality Disorder like unwilling to get involved with people unless certain of being liked. My father also has a similar problem of viewing self as socially inept, personally unappealing or inferior to others, need to seek constant approval from others. Is there any thing that can cure my problems?
