My wife had a gastric bypass surgery. Six months ago she is in a state of depression and has started to drink heavily. What are the effects of this. She stopped assoc with people. Please help if you can.

When your wife cannot overeat anymore because of the surgery, she has start drinking. She need psychotherapy from a therapist who is specialized on drug problems. Naltrexone takes away the desire to drink and can be a very useful complement to psychotherapy. Talk to a medical doctor about naltrexone. Your wife needs to experience her feelings instead of supressing them with food or alcohol and she needs to solve her problems one after another.
