Finding the right meds is becoming difficult. My so is 9yrs old. He started at 5yrs taking short acting dexedrine, then he stopped gaining weight eating etc, so we switched to concerta when he was 7yrs. Then the concerta didn't seem to work so we supplemented it with short-acting ritalin twice daily. Then suddenly at 8.5yrs this combination stopped working. We then went to 30mg of dexedring spansules, he is a wild boy on this, very agressive etc. Our doc recently added .05 of Chlonodine twice daily. Still no change. We are so tired of what seems like constant med switching. He is good for a couple weeks then all hell breaks loose. I can't get into any qualified docs where I live they all have 2yr waiting lists. Is there any way you can help me with what to ask our family doc to prescribe til we can get into an experienced doc or at least finish the school year without going insane.
