Onco or twice a week my heart starts beating rapidly for no reason at all. I check my pulse but I have none until the beating becomes regular. It's as if the small part beats much more than normal to make up for the larger part not working, if that makes sense.

I'm 44, white male, overweight, my forefathers all died before 60 with heart disease.
