My mother is constantly calling our home. She lives alone, but spends all her time with her mother, either at her house or at nanas. She calls 6-12 times a day in some cases when she wants something. She is always asking us to to things for her, like asking my husband to fix her reticulation (which plays up all the time), fix her computer, put together furniture, install software, explain bank documents, organise accounts etc etc. We live close by, so she expects us to do everything for her. If there's nothing specific she needs us to do she'll still call, making up tiny little things as excuses to call, or asking us where my brothers are, or why cant she contact them, or can we ask them to call her. If she has a problem with one of us she talks to someone else about it, never the person it concerns. She exagerrates things, causing problems between my brother and myself, saying that he's done stuff which he hasnt, or she omits details, like she's trying to get us on her side in an argument against the other. Its gotten to the point that when she calls at home my husband immediately passes the phone to me (as we have caller ID), or if she calls our mobiles we usually ignore it, or I'll think of an excuse to get her off the phone quickly. She is causing problems in my marraige because she's my mother, and I dont know what to do about her behaviour. Please, can you tell me whats wrong with her? And what I should do? Im just about ready to tell her to stop calling me.
