Narcissistic or something else

My mother has been diagnosed with Narcissistic personality disorder. She says she always wants attention and do things to get it. She also says she has continous daydreams about her somehow being the center of attention. Lately, she has been doing good but then all of a sudden she broke her knuckles she said she got mad and punched a wall. My mother has never had a problem with angry. I was wondering if it is possible that she self injured herself just to get attention? I have been trying to look it up on the internet but I couldn't find anything related to self injury and Narcissistic personality disorder.
