I'm female, 54 years old, and have what I guess is an eating disorder that began as a diet and went awry. I have been restricting for about 7-8 months; I've lost around 50 lbs., and have seen a therapist, but no longer am because I have no insurance and was paying out of pocket. My weight is "normal", 132 lbs., but I want to lose at least another twelve lbs. Others are trying to help me, and because I've developed dizziness, hair loss, and other symptoms I'm trying to improve the eating, with difficulty - food, and anything related to it like planning meals and cooking - even smelling it and seeing it sometimes - is unappealing and distasteful. I do eat small amounts, but find beverages easier to ingest, depending on what they are. Could this problem of finding food distasteful be a short term problem, and does this happen often in eating disorders? At first I was hungry a lot, now I'm not.
