Child or Spouse, who comes first?

Who should come first. I am a mother of 2 teenagers and married to a man who is not there biological father. My husband says that he should be my number 1 and not the kids. Because he will be the one here after they are gone. I can agree to certain levels of that but when he makes me choose between them or him, who is right?

Make your husband feel that he is number one, but give the children what they need too. Try to avoid discussions.
