sad
I have been feeling depressed lately. At school im am shy and get bullied all the time and it really upsets me, everyone picks on me, even a handicapped kid will crack a joke sometimes and I really don't know what to do, I have few friends and my depressive state effects me in many ways, for example I cant sleep at night, I feel like doing nothing when I am home and I am behind others in many ways (No job or license yet), I am 16. I also don't know how to start a conversation with people and how to make friends and it really bothers my parents. I just feel like everyone will reject me and just pick on me some more. I dont know how to talk to girls either for the same reasons and I have never had a girlfriend. So if someone could help me I would appreciate it.

Try the following:
1. Get up early in the morning and go for a walk. Then gradually start running. Do not forget to warm up and wear proper shoes. Nothing gives confidence as much as a healthy work out/ walking/ running session. Since you are only 16, this would help you develop a fitness level and make body healthier that would give you a better self image and self confidence. There is everything positive about exercise.
2. If your school has a counsellor, pl meet with her and share your present issue. Teen can be a bit different age, believe me, in a few years you would possibly smile at this time.
3. There must be friendly kids too. If not try and strike a conversation with a student who seems friendly. Around the water fountain/ before the class starts/ while walking down the hallway just give a cheerful smile and wave- nothing is as miraculous as a smile! Gradually increase the conversation. You will have to take the effort.
4. Join hobby classes and make friends there/ take part in community activity.
5. Try to accept somethings about yourself (viz. shyness) and build on it.
6. You are only 16. Give yourself time and everything will fall into place.
7. No matter what, do not neglect studies. That is what builds your future.
Good Luck! You can do it.
