question
My son's girlfriend is alcoholic and continually attempting suicide to keep him from leaving her. She has no family except for one brother who lives a long way away, so my son is trapped by her. She is also violent towards him but he is afraid of what she will do to herself if he leaves. He has now fallen in love with a lovely girl but he is trapped and doesn't know where to turn to for help.

Tell him to move to his own place. If he moves in with the new girl, it might be too much for your son's present girlfriend. Encourage her to see a specialist on alcohol addiction treatment.
